Type: Lectotype , designated by Jeannel (1919: 246) : “ TYPE ” // “NOVEMBRE” // “ MUSEUM PARIS AFRIQUE ORIENT . ANGL . KÉNIA (S.-O.) DISTRICT DE MARANGA FORT-HALL. CH . ALLUAUD 1909” // “ Ectomocoris mbaya n. sp. R . JEANNEL det.” [hw Jeannel] ( Fig. 11 ). Type locality: Pays Kikuyu : Fort-Hall [ Kenya ] . Current status: Valid species. Remarks: A brief “preliminary diagnosis” of Ectomocoris mbaya , which nevertheless represented a proposal of the name in an available way, was published by Jeannel (1917) , without designating holotype or mentioning the number of type specimens; the original description neither implies nor requires that there were more than one syntypes . A subsequent detailed redescription ( Jeannel 1919: 246 ) provided the following additional information: “TYPE: une femelle brachyptère de Fort-Hall. ( Mus . Paris)” and “Fort-Hall ( 1.330 m .)”. The act of Jeannel (1919) is to be recognized as a valid lectotype designation according to ICZN (1999 , Art . 74.6).
