Type locality : Nalunega, San Blas Islands, Panama . Distribution : This species occurs in Panama and Colombia ( Williams & Williams, 1981 ; Kensley & Schotte, 1989 , 2000 ). Range extension : This is the first record for the Gulf of Mexico at SM inlet, Tamulipas State, Mexico . Remarks : Anilocra abudefdufi has previously only been reported from Panama and Colombia as a parasite of the sergeant major Abudefduf saxatilis (Linaeaus) , attached beneath the eye of the host ( Williams & Williams, 1981 ). The salinity and temperature ranges measured at the site were 24 to 26 %o and 27 to 28 °C, respectively.
