Microterys tricoloricornis ( De Stefani, 1886 ) Host associations in Iran . Saissetia oleae ( Ghahari et al . 2010 ) . Distribution in Iran . Mazandaran ( Ghahari et al . 2010 ). General distribution. Holarctic and Neotropical regions. Remarks. De Stefani (1886) described this taxon in the genus Encyrtus Latreille, 1809 . Thirty-five years later, Mercet (1921) described the species E. consobrinus . However, Erdös (1957) synonymized two species and transferred them in the genus Microterys . Subsequently, Guerrieri (1996) provides some comments on the species. Recently, Japoshvili (2011) examined type's specimens of Encyrtus consobrinus and Microterys tricoloricornis from Madrid Natural History Museum and gaves information about the difference of this species from other species of Microteris in the identification key. We think that this species is valid, but the accuracy of the cited record from Iran is unclear.
