Material : 1♂ Germany : Schleswig-Holstein , upper Schierenseebach , 17 May 1985 ; 1♂ Germany : Schleswig-Hol- stein, lower Schierenseebach , 22 May 1985 , all leg. Holm ( holotype and paratype of Tonnoiriella holmi ) Description : Head round, eyebridge of 3 facet rows; distance between eyes 4.7 facet diameters; with postocular bristles. Palpus segments, absolute length: 0.072-0.076-0.080-0.152; relative length: 36-38-40-76. Antenna with scape, pedicel and 5 flagellomeres, distal segments missing: absolute length 0.044-0.052-0.040-0.040-0.038-0.036- 0.040- mm; relative length 22-26-20-20-19-18-20-; distal flagellomeres missing; flagellomere 5 and following with a pair of digitiform curved ascoids in the apical third. Wing 2.83 times longer than wide; length 2.05 mm , width 0.72 mm . Male terminalia with hypandrium with broad median linguiform enlargement, tip almost reaching tip of gonocoxites ( Fig. 38 ). Gonocoxites as long as their basal width, with 1 long seta near apical end on inner edge. Gonostylus with basal swelling as long as the gonocoxite incised near tip with spearhead appearance ( Fig. 39 ). Parameres not clearly identified, small but seemingly not different from other species. Aedeagus with ventral lobe of the basiphallus short straight; distiphallus sclerite with long basal arm, cross part slightly bent, thin. Dorsal lobe of basiphallus is broad, straight, and symmetric, no dorsal distiphallus. Epandrium rhomboid short; epandrial processes basally bulky distally thinner with 3 feathered retinacula, 1 long and 2 short ( Fig. 40 ). Hypoproct oval, microsetose. Distribution : Italy , Germany , Great Britain . Remarks : This well defined species is widely distributed in Western Europe. However, it is rarely collected which finally caused the repeated descriptions from Germany and England . German specimens were collected along a slow running lowland stream.
