Ecological note: On Sargassum cymosum C. Agardh and S. rigidulum Kuetzing. Ammothella rugulosa (Verrill, 1900) — Marcus, 1940c : 92 –93, fig 12a–g (Brazil: São Paulo, shallow water).— Stock, 1992 : 116 (Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, 34 m ). Original name: Ammothea ( Ammothella ) rugulosa Verrill, 1900 . Holotype: Unknown. Type locality: Bailey Bay , Bermuda . Ammothella spinifera Cole, 1904 — Stock, 1992 : 116 ( Brazil : São Paulo , infralittoral). Holotype : MVZ nº. 19.509. Type locality: San Diego , California , USA . Ecological notes: On rocks, amongst ascidians, bryozoans and sponges, infralittoral zone.
