Features
: Length: 42–60 μm, width: 6–8 μm, striae
12–14 in
10 μm.
Description
: Valves linear with rounded apices. Raphe-sternum large with slightly undulate raphe fissures. Central area undistinguished. Transapical striae coarse, parallel and developed in the outer zone of the valve.
Remarks
: Examined specimens possess slightly higher striae density (normally
8–11 in
10 μm).
Ecology and Distribution
: Widely distributed marine species. Previously reported from the Gulf (Al-Yamani & Saburova 2011). Frequent in
Basra
corals.
