Notes.
– Both duplicates at
P
have the catalogue (not collection) number
1442
. The single material that Boissier examined for the species description was
P
02272710
, which he annotated and from which he took a fragment consisting of an upper cauline leaf and three flowering tips. He did not annotate
P
02272709
and, most certainly did not examine it.
JAFRI (1973: 234)
arbitrarily indicated that the type is at
G
, though he did not examine nor annotate it. By contrast,
POLATSCHEK (2010: 251)
designated
P
02272709
as the
lectotype
, and one of us (IAS) erroneously annotated it in 2016 as such. However, that sheet is less complete and does not show the inflated and thickened stem as does
P
02272710
. In our opinion, no lectotypification is necessary, and
P
02272710
ought to be considered as the
holotype
(see
BOISSIER, 1841a
).
