Leptidea juvernica
Williams, 1946
– This species was reported by
Jakšić & Ristić (1999)
based on genitalia analysis of a single specimen from the Durmitor National park. It was originally reported as
L. reali
; however, recent research has shown that only
L. juvernica
inhabits the Balkan Peninsula (
Shtinkov
et al.
2016
). Therefore, the record of
L. reali
should be regarded as
L. juvernica
in this paper. Although the species is probably much more widespread in
Montenegro
, correct determination necessitates genitalia and/or DNA analysis, and the relatively recent separation of the species from its sibling species
L. sinapis
and
L. reali
(
Dincă
et al.
2011
,
2013
) has made this even more necessary.
