Comments
This species seems to occur in the areas where hygrophilous steppe is present, together with
Hyparrhenia bracteata
(
Poaceae
),
Sorghastrum scaberrimum
(
Poaceae
), and some species of
Paspalum
(
Poaceae
), feeding on flowers and seeds of these species. The humid areas are located in the lower altitudes and plateaus of the GSP, near Atlantic Forest, being a transition area between Cerrado and the aforementioned biome (
IAP 2002
).
Bioacoustics
(
Figure 6a–b
)
Males sing during the day and at sunset. Duration of pulses: 15.6 ± 0.83 ms (13.35–17 ms); duration of echemes: 1.63 ±
0.19 s
(1.13–
1.8 s
); mute interval between echemes: 22 ±
5.7 s
(14–31 s); bandwidth: 16 ± 1.3 kHz (14–20 kHz); peak frequency: 16.7 ± 2.3 kHz (11.6– 23.2 kHz).
