DESCRIPTION. — Among the species with apical processes arising above the apical margin of elytra and projecting well beyond the abdomen, and with setose prementum, E. ambrymensis is distinguished by being of a uniform black with large shiny granules and very small scales that leave most of the integument exposed. Length: 14.0-16.0 mm. TYPE MATERIAL . — Described from two specimens : holotype (type) female, deposited with BPBM (not seen); paratype (cotype) female deposited with NHML (seen). No other specimens present . MATERIAL EXAMINED . — Vanuatu . Ambrym. One specimen. ETYMOLOGY. — A patronymic epithet from Ambrym Island.
