Nomenclatural notes:—
In the protologue is not stated the herbarium where the
holotype
of
F.matiziana
was deposited.
Carauta (1989)
was the first one to suggest the type specimen was at COL; however, there are three preparations of the same collection at this herbarium labelled
Garcia-Barriga 11840
. It is not clearly indicated in their labels whether they are part of a single specimen or not. Therefore these are considered to be three duplicates (
Turland
et al.
2018
, Art. 8.3). Therefore, Carauta’s typification was not effective. Here, we chose specimen
Garcia-Barriga 11840
(COL 25770) as the
lectotype
because it is more complete and it has branches, leaves, stipules, peduncles, and syconia.
Taxonomical notes:—
This name is currently accepted (e.g.,
Carauta 1989
,
Berg 2009
).
