The genus
Physokermes
currently contains 13 species, of which eight occur in the Palearctic Region (
Kozar
et al
. 2012
;
García Morales
et al
. 2016
). In the adult female, anal plates are absent, and antennae and legs are reduced; but well-developed antennae, legs and anal plates are present in the immature stages (Williams & Kosztarab 1972;
Kozar
et al
. 2012
). In
Türkiye
, two species are known (
Ülgentürk 2016
), one of which was collected in
Ankara
during this study.
