Cacatua ducorpsii
Pucheran, 1853
. Ducorps’s Cockatoo
Common, but in small numbers, at all elevations. Generally seen in groups of 2 or 3 individuals.
Identifi- cation
: Distinct.
Micropsitta finschii
(EP Ramsay, 1881)
. Finsch’s
Pygmy-Parrot
One individual was observed in flight.
Identification
: Very small size and stout structure, typical of pygmyparrots, and no long tail was noted which eliminated Meek’s Lorikeet. As it flew, the bird gave a high pitch, buzzy call. Calls from xeno-canto were referenced for identification purposes, and they matched the high buzzy pitch given by the bird.
