Type-material: Lectotype female ( IES 33 A, herein designated) from Yunque de Baracoa (2035’S 7457’W), province of Guantanamo , Cuba . Paralectotype female ( IES 33 B) same data as the lectotype . Note: The vial with collection number IES 33 contains two female specimens: the large female (IES 33A) has an egg sac with more than one hundred first–instar juveniles and is here redescribed. Franganillo mentioned that he collected numerous females with egg sacs in a palm tree (Yaguas de palma), however, only two specimens were located (IES 33A and IES 33B). Diagnosis: Cyrtopholis plumosa can be distinguished from the other species by the aspect of spermathecae, which has a small lateral branch on the median portion of each receptacle and a subapical constriction ( Fig. 9 ). C. gibbosa also has a lateral branch in the receptacles ( Fig. 24 ), but is about half the size found in C. plumosa . The posterior sigilla are rounded and away from margin ( Fig. 6 ). Labium with few cuspules (13) ( Fig. 6 ), similar to C. ramsi (less than 30). The name of the species refers to the presence of plumose hairs on trochanter of palp and first leg, but this character is present in all species of the genus. Absence of projection on cephalothorax (hump–like projection) ( Fig. 20 ), present in C. gibbosa , C. regibbosa and C. bryantae . FIGURES 1–4. Cyrtopholis plumosa (lectotype–IES 33A). 1. Trochanter and coxa of right palp, retrolateral face, arrows: stridulatory organ. 2. Claviform stridulatory bristle of trochanter of palp. 3. Trochanter and coxa of right leg I, prolateral face, arrows: stridulatory organ. 4. Claviform stridulatory bristle of trochanter of leg I. Scales. 2 mm (Figs 1 and 3) and 300 μm (Figs 2 and 4). Scales: 5 mm (Figs 5–7) e 1 mm (Figs 8–9). Redescription: Lectotype female (IES 33A). Color (in ethanol 70%): carapace brown ( Fig. 5 ). Abdomen brown ( Fig. 5 ), sternum and legs brown. Total length: 36.5. Carapace ( Fig. 7 ): length 16.3, width 13.0, fovea straight ( Fig. 5 ). Clypeus narrow 0.1. Eye tubercle ( Fig. 8 ): length 1.5, width 3.1. Anterior and posterior eyes row recurved ( Fig 8 ). Eyes sizes: AME 0.35, ALE 0.30, PME 0.25, PLE 0.30. Basal segments of chelicerae with 13 teeth each. Labium ( Fig. 6 ) length 1.3, width 3.0. Sternum elongated ( Fig. 6 ) length 8.5, width 5.5. Sternal sigilla rounded anterior and median near margin; posterior distant from margin ( Fig. 6 ). Labium ( Fig. 6 ) with 13 cuspules. Maxillae with 63–57 (left–right) cuspules. Spination of legs and palp. Tarsi without spines. Palp: femur: v0, p0, r0; patella: v0, p0, r0; tibia: v0, p0, r0.
