( Figs 119–120 , 311 ) Dohrniphora mississippiensis , Brown & Kung, 2007: 177–178 , figs. 85–86 (misidentification). Species recognition. See Species Recognition for D. sarriae . This species differs from D. mississippiensis and D. sarriae by the protruding, round, shiny hind coxal lobe with thick black setae, as well as the form of the ventral spinulose concavity. Description. Body length: 1.78–2.28 mm . Head: Frons dark brown, second row of setae slightly concave. Flagellomere 1 round, brown. Palpus of normal size, brown. Thorax: Scutum dark brown. Scutellum dark brown, with 2 pairs of setae; anterior seta one-third length of posterior seta. Pleuron dark brown, lighter medially. Mean costal length 0.52 wing length, range 0.51–0.54. Halter brown. Legs mostly brown. Forecoxa in lateral view brown. Foretibia with 4–5 dorsal setae. Foretarsomeres slender, elongate. Midcoxa dark brown. Hind coxa brown. Hind coxal lobe dark brown, shiny, with thick black setae, round ( Fig. 310 ). Posterior face of hind femur with single to double row of peglike setae well-separated from ventral margin of hind femur by large, imbricate lobe; apex of lobe narrowed; more distally with large ventral spinulose concavity; dorsal margin curved ventrally, forming short rounded concavity ( Figs 119–120 ). Abdomen: Abdominal tergite 1 dark brown, tergites 2–6 dark brown. Venter of abdomen gray, with few setae, larger on posterior margin of segment 5. Male terminalia brown, cercus yellow apically, brown basally. Distribution. Colombia , Ecuador , and Panama . Derivation of specific epithet. From Latin conspicuus , referring to the prominent hind coxal lobe. Holotype . , ECUADOR : Pichincha : 17 km E Santo Domingo , above Tinalandia , 9–13.v.1987 , B. Brown & L. Coote , 1150 m , Malaise trap , montane forest [ LACM ENT 270930 ] ( LACM ). Paratypes .
