Distribution: Lithuania , Azerbaijan , Georgia , Iran . First records for Macedonia and Morocco (new to North Africa). Note: An overlooked species, only recently recorded in Europe from Lithuania ( Podenas & Visarčuk 2006 ), but probably widespread at least in the east of Europe. It differs from G. (G.) tenella (Meigen, 1818) especially by the shape of the aedeagus (cf. Figs 1–2 ).
