Forewings 2.0 times longer than wide, length in male 2.9–3.1 mm (mean = 3.0, n= 4). Male genital styles widening towards end, which is truncated; proximal dorsal process small, slightly shorter than wide; distal dorsal process much longer than proximal process, thick; both processes separated by a narrow gap only. Aedeagus with apical part broad and blunt; right side with a flat, dorsal lobe. Remark. Very similar to Levu psittacus sp. nov. The above description has been shortened, due to this similarity. Etymology . The species is named for P. Shanahan who collected the holotype and ' shanahani ' is a latinized noun used in the genitive case. Type material. Solomon Islands . Diagnosis. Levu shanahani is indistinguishable externally from L. psittacus sp. nov. , also found in the Solomons The males can be recognized by the genital styles having a long and thick distal dorsal process.
