Forewings 2.1 times longer than wide, length: female about 4.2 mm . Stramineous, forewings powdered, faintly infuscated along parts of M, R and Sc, slightly stronger around first subcostal sector; veins stramineous to light orange in basal 1/3rd, orange-red in posterior 2/3rd. Hindwings colourless, veins light red. Etymology . The species name is a Greek name of a person. We consider it to be a latinized noun used in apposition. Type material . Lectotype (here designated) (forewing 4.2 mm , body 2.4 mm ), FIJI ISL., labels: 1) Rewa , Fiji / Muir 1906 2) Type / halosydne/ Kirk 3) Levu / halosydne/ (Kirk.) ( BPBM #5204 ). Note . Kirkaldy described this species from an unspecified number of male specimens from " Fiji , Rewa". As he did not indicate how many specimens he studied we designate the only available syntype as lectotype . Distribution . Fiji Islands . Diagnosis. Levu halosydne can be easily recognized by the orange and red veins of the forewings and hindwings.
