This species is characterized by a sharp pointed gonostylus with a long apical tooth and a variable number (4–8) of hyaline spines, arranged in a straight row on the inner side reaching almost to the base, a flat tegmen, long c (= 2/3w) as well as yellowish haltere and legs. There are no morphological differences to the Palearctic specimens. It is similar to Sc. subdendrotica and Sc. geophila . It belongs to the Sc. atomaria group. Distribution . Holarctic.
