Type
locality.
Peru
, Cuzco,
3400 m
.
Examined material.
HT ♂ (CSt at
MSNM
); 10 PTT ♂ and 2 PTT ♀ (CMa, CSt);
23 ♂
and 26 ♀ (CAl, CGi, CMa).
Note.
Species easily distinguished by the distinctive shape of aedeagus, which is strongly bent downwards in lateral view. The apical blade of the aedeagus of the HT is broken; for this reason the aedeagus of a PT is illustrated.
Distribution.
Andean area of Cuzco, from Calca to Sicuani-La Raya.
Habitat.
The altitude data reported on the labels (
3,400–4,650 m
a.s.l.), as well as the captures by one of the authors (G. Allegro) at La Raya Pass (
4,300 m
), suggest a preference of this species for the Andean grassland.
