Chrisotea
gen. n.
Type-species
Trichosea zhangi
Chen, 1990
, herewith designated.
Diagnosis.
The genus resembles in external appearance by pale yellowish white colouration and the black wing pattern
Trichosea
Grote, 1875
, but differs from the former by structure of the male genitalia, particularly by extremely wide tegument with large penicular lobes, huge broad uncus, triangular shape of juxta and shape of apically pointed valva with large basal extension of costa and by knife-shaped harpe. The female genitalia differ by extremely broad ovipositor, long, slightly sclerotised ductus bursae and short apophyses anteriores and posteriors. The genus
Trichosea
include currently 13 described species, which has rather uniform external appearance and the genitalia structure similar to the type-species
T. ludifica
(Linnaeus, 1758)
(
Figs. 4, 10
,
15, 16
) with reduced uncus, shield-like justa, narrower vinculum, broader valve with transversal clasper and ventral position of harpe and well developed cucullus covered with strong setae.
Description.
Frons convex. Palpi short, with tiny 3rd segment pointed, small, about 1/3 length of 2nd, black laterally, pale yellowish-white frontally, with white tips of 2nd and white 3rd segments. Proboscis fully developed. Eyes rounded, covered with scarce hairs, surrounded with black lashes. Antennae of male simple, filiform. Frons and vertex covered with yellowish-white hair-like scales. Tegulae and patagia covered with yellowish-white scales, tegulae with black basal border, patagia with basal and medial patches of black scales. Ventrally thorax yellowishwhite, legs yellowish-white with black tips of segments. Forewing rather broad. Hindwing with M2 developed, arising from mid of cell.
Male genitalia
(
Fig. 13
). Uncus massive, broad, extended medially; tegument extremely broad, about twice higher than vinculum, with very large sclerotised lateral extensions; vinculum U-shaped; juxta as triangular plate; transtilla broad; valva broad basally, tapered and pointed apically; sacculus narrow; costa strong, with large basal extension; clasper plate-like, harpe moderate, knife-shaped. Aedeagus moderate, slightly curved, carina sclerotised, with small apical spine; everted vesica tubular, extended medially, with two medial diverticula and basal sclerotised semi-ring plate.

Female genitalia
(Fig. 18). Papillae anales extremely broad, sclerotised; eight segment extremely broad; apophyses posteriors and anteriors very short; ductus bursae long, broader in caudal part, slightly sclerotized and wrinkled in proximal part; corpus bursae membranous, rather large, ovoid, with ductus seminalis falls to small extension of bursae.
Etymology.
