Syntype Ψ Graptostethus trisignatus Distant with the following labels: 1. “Laga” [or “Naga”] “2000/6000”, hwr; 2. “Distant Coll. 1911-383.”, pr; 3. “This is the same as Lygaeus incertus Walker. ”, hwr, “G. G. E. Scudder det. 1985” pr. Remarks. Originally described from an unspecified number of specimens from “Naga hills, 2000 to 6000 feet ; North Khasia hills, 1500 to 3000 feet .”. The two syntypes of this species and the type of Graptostethus incertus (Walker) , although a little damaged, are identical. Scudder also noted the synonymy (see his label on Syntype 2 above). Note: Among the species of Graptostethus known to us, only G. i n c e r t u s has a fully black vertex, and it is therefore questionable whether this species belongs in this genus.
