Distribution :— Bothriochloa grahamii is known only from the type locality Amakantak Hills, Madhya Pradesh , India by the type collection at K and the species is so far endemic to Madhya Pradesh ( Bor 1960 , Landge & Shinde 2021 ). Notes :— Haines (1914) described Andropogon grahamii on the basis of a single collection from the Lormi Forest, Amakantak Hills [Amarkantak], Central province [ Madhya Pradesh ]. With reference to the details in the protologue, two duplicates of the collection Haines 3646 were located at K. The herbarium sheet (K000245672) is a complete specimen possessing roots, culms, leaves, branches and the inflorescence with an additional illustration and short description probably by Haines in his own handwriting. The specimen on the other sheet (K000245671) lacks the lower portion. This specimen also bears pencil sketches of the parts of the sessile and pedicelled spikelets and short description of these structures probably by Haines. According to Art. 9.6 of the Schenzen Code ( Turland et al. 2018 ), all the cited specimens in the protologue are syntypes . The best complete specimen having additional illustration on the herbarium sheet made by Haines housed at K (barcode K000245672) is designated here as the lectotype .
