Type
species:
Euroleptochromus sabathi
Jałoszyński, 2012
b (orig. des.).
Diagnosis.
Euroleptochromus
differs from all remaining Leptochromini in the following unique apomorphies: maxillary palpomere II with short and broad submedian protuberance bearing apical bristles; and maxillary palpomere IV suboval and only about twice as long as broad. Additionally, a long cuticular process bearing apical bristles is present on each postgena (shared with some
Leptochromus
, but not with
Rovnoleptochromus
).
Composition and distribution.
Euroleptochromus
(
Fig. 111
) comprises two extinct species known from the Upper Eocene Baltic amber.
Remarks.
Euroleptochromus
, except for characters listed in the diagnosis, closely resembles
Leptochromus
in all remaining structures.
