Diversity.
Worldwide, with about 135 species arrayed in three genera:
Clinidium
(about 75 species),
Grouvellina
Bell and Bell (17 Madagascan species), and
Rhyzodiastes
Fairmaire (about 45 species). The vast majority of species are found in the Southern Hemisphere, with only 11 species (about 8% of the world fauna) occurring in the Northern Hemisphere.
