In this species, the ventral valve floor has a wider median area between gonad pits that is ornamented with smaller tubercles. The dorsal median septum is thicker, the marsupial orifices are smaller and differently shaped. Canopying spicules are thicker at their base near the valve floor and fuse together producing finely granulate canopies with irregular ventral surfaces covering two-thirds of the brachial cavities (
