Derivation of name
. From
depressa
(Latin= low) for the flattened body.
Diagnosis.
This species is distinguished from all other
Ocnosispa
by the crenulate apical margins, the flattened body, and the suture between abdominal sterna one and two which is obsolete in middle.
Description
. Dark reddishorange; elytra with diffuse black markings. Head: vertex with medial carina, punctate; frons not angulate; small tooth present between antennal bases. Antenna: antennomere I transverse; IIVI cylindrical; VIIX transverse; XI bluntly pointed at apex; IVI with scattered setae; VIIXI setose; II wider than III. Pronotum: lateral margin sinuate for basal, angulate in middle, then sinuate and converging to apex; each anterior angle with large, blunt tooth; posterior angle acute; disc convex; surface sparsely, coarsely punctate; small transverse basal impression present; pronotal length
