(Figures: 6–12) Holotype : Description of male: Total body length 3.119. Overall colour pale brown, with notum slightly darker than pleurae, coxae and legs. Head ( Fig. 6 ): length 0.364. Clypeus 0.200 long. Width of head 0.420. Interocular distance 0.035. Palpomere lengths: pI 0.028; pII 0.070; pIII 0.088; pIV 0.105 and pV 0.305. Palpal formula 1.2.3.4.5. Palpomere pV clearly longer than sum of all other palpomere lengths. Newstead’s spines restricted to basal half of pIII ( Fig. 8 ) Flagellomere lengths: FIII 0.354; FIV 0.214; FV 0.238; FVI 0.228; FVII 0.210; FVIII 0.210; FIX 0.186; FX 0.175; FXI 0.154; FXII 0.151; FXIII 0.133 and FXIV 0.123. Mushroom-shaped ascoids present on all antennal segments ( Fig. 7 ) Thorax: Length 0.875. Coxae lengths: anterior 0.455; median 0.368 and posterior 0.350. Femur lengths: anterior 1.115; median 1.068 and posterior 1.050. Tibiae lengths: anterior 1.400; median 1.698 and posterior 1.876. Lengths of anterior tarsomeres: TI 0.735; TII 0.385; TIII 0.235; TIV 0.130 and TV 0.109. Lengths of median tarsomeres: TI 0.823; TII 0.392; TIII 0.263; TIV 0.140 and TV 0.109. Lengths of posterior tarsomeres: TI 0.868; TII 0.473; TIII 0.280; TIV 0.151 and TV 0.105. Wing 2.730 long, 0.753 wide. Principal alar distances: α (R2) 0.385; β (R2 + 3) 1.278; γ (R2+ 3 + 4) 0.385 and δ 0.175. Subcostal vein connected distally to C ( Fig. 9 ). Abdomen. Total length 1.960, not including terminalia. Tufts of at least 50 long bristles emerging from two adjacent dark-pigmented patches on each segment. Terminalia ( Fig. 11 ): aedeagal apodeme simple and narrow, 0.228 long. Gonocoxite length 0.280 and width 0.175, bearing short, pointed projection with approximately 10 bristles on basal 2/3 of structure. Gonostylus ( Fig. 12 ) 0.315 long, approximately same length as gonocoxite, width 0.084. Row of 25–30 stout, semifoliaceous spines on lower surface, extending from the base up to midpoint. Bifurcated tip formed by two stout, downward-pointing processes each bearing stout sclerotized spines. Larger process with four spines emerging from distal tubercle and two more arranged in parallel on inner surface. Smaller process set at right angles to above, with three short spines of different lengths each emerging from separate tubercle. Few fine hairs emerging from tip of bulge overhanging projections. Paramere ( Fig. 10 ) 0.315 long, blade-like with curved ventral projection and small flag-like process on upper edge bearing eight fine hairs. Lateral lobes short, 0.088 long and 0.042 wide. Cercus length equal to that of lateral lobes. Aedeagus half moon-shaped, 0.105. Type locality. Brazil , Espírito Santo State, municipality of Vargem Alta, Belem ( 20º 47,093`S 41º 00,472`W ; 350 masl) 15.I.2007 . Type material. Holotype male number 0 0 2. Santos C. B. 24.III.2007 , deposited in Psychodidae collection of CEUMT-UFES. Etymology. The specific name derives from “ capixaba ” the vernacular term for a native of the Brazilian State of Espírito Santo.
