Surveys in the Doñana protected areas produced a total of 51 species of
Andrena
, including the six taxa recorded by
HERERRA
(1988)
, and also including a new species for science that is described below. Their flight periods encompassed January to June, with a peak in March and April. Overall, they utilize a wide diversity of floral resources, ranging from annual ruderal plants to long-lived shrubs (
