Evia: mte. Xerobuno [ mountain Xerovouni ], May 76 [1876], T. Pichler s.n. (P 02657940!, image available at http://sonneratphoto.mnhn.fr/ 2011/04/05 /5/P02657940.jpg; isolectotypes P 02657939!, PR 161807 !, WU !). Other original material examined :— GREECE . Evia : monte Dirphye [mountain Dyrfis], 1 May 1885 , G. Orphanides 1100 ( PR !, W !) Note :—Deyl described the new species on the basis of material collected on Evia by Pichler under the name “ S. tenuifolia var.” on mt. Xerovouni, and by Orphanides on mt. Dyrfis determined just as Sesleria . We found three specimens collected by Pichler (P, PR and WU ) and several specimens collected by Orphanides with the collector number 1100 in PR (with probably more duplicates of both gatherings in other European herbaria). The new species was named after Vladimír Josef Krajina (1905–1993), Deyl’s contemporary and colleague who worked for a period as a professor at the Charles University in Prague . The specimen selected here as the lectotype (P 0265799) is the best preserved, and fits best with the protologue, since the leaves are ca. 2 mm wide and up to 20 cm long.
