Type locality Scotland , Galloway. Remarks This species was described from an unspecified number of males, apparently from the same type series as for P. halterata Kieffer, 1909 . The type agrees well with the description, although it has a weak scutellar pit. A lectotype is designated here; this is the same specimen as the lectotype of P. halterata Kieffer, 1909 , creating objective synonymy between the two names. The lectotype is mounted on a card, left fore leg mounted separately, and most tarsi broken.
