Centris mariae
lectotype
(♀,
Figs 13–16
): Four
syntype
specimens (“quattuor specimina conformia”) were included by Mocsáry, three of which we examined. One female labeled [purple label without text], “
Peru
[printed] / Pebas”, “685 / 68”, “

” [red printed] is here designated as the
lectotype
. Two additional females with the same labels are designated as
paralectotypes
. The
type
locality is Pebas, Loreto,
Peru
. According to the accession book at HNHM the specimen was purchased from insect dealer Otto Staudinger in 1884. This species is poorly known and apparently males have never been associated with the females. Therefore potential synonymies have not been possible to assess.
