Moreton Bay ( BMNH ). PARALECTOTYPE (here designated): TYPE / Nov. Holl. Moreton Is. / Fry Coll. 1905. 100 (1, BMNH ). Lemidia maculicollis var. apicalis Gorham : LECTOTYPE (here designated): 32283 / TYPE / Nov. Holl. Moreton Is. / Fry Coll. 1905. 100 / L. apicalis Gorh. / Lemidia var. apicalis Gorham Austr. Moreton Bay ( BMNH ). Lemidia bilineatra Lea : LECTOTYPE (here designated): Lemidia bilineatra Lea TYPE Victoria ( SAMA ). Remarks. The lectotypes of L. maculicollis var. apicalis and L. bilineatra are extremely similar, differing by the former having a wholly orange pronotum and an ill-defined pale brown preapical spot on each elytron, and the latter with a pair of dark, longitudinal, paramedial stripes on the pronotum and lacking the preapical elytral spot. While the L. maculicollis lectotype has similar pronotal stripes as that of L. bilineatra , the triangular, white, laterally positioned elytral macula of L. maculicollis var. apicalis and L. bilineatra is almost obsolete. The proposed synonymy is based on the overlapping degrees of variation observed among all three type specimens.
