There is a possibility that this taxon is synonymous with Puncturella analoga Martens, 1902 , which in turn may be a synonym of P. conica (d’Orbigny, 1841) and that there is a single circum-Antarctic species. Pupillaea Gray, 1835 . Type species (m.): Fissurella aperta G.B. Sowerby (I), 1825 .
