Pubescent eyes, a terminal seta on last antennal flagellomere, no acrostichal setae, a moderately extended costa and a strongly sinuous Cu

are observed in the
holotype
of
Bryophaenocladius togatenuis
. These features indicate that the species belongs to the genus
Smittia
Holmgren. Furthermore
, the hypopygial features are quite consistent with those of
Smittia nudipennis
.
