One of the female specimens under study (Lungsen,

), has a lateral black patch on synthorax, on ferruginous background. The mark
is
more evident along the humeral suture and around
the
spiracle but becomes more distinct when the surface

moistened with benzene. Dr.
M.A

, so that the presence of such a mark appears to be an individual variation, although not mentioned in the description of this
subspecies

Fraser (1936). It may be noted that the presence of a V-shaped lateral black
markon
synthorax has been considered as one of the distinguishing characters
for
Crocothemis indica Sahni
(
Sahni, 1965
, Lahiri
et
. al, 1972).
Distribution:
Ranging from Mesopotamia to Japan, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
