HOLOTYPE : AMNH 70525 , adult sex?, collected at Las Nubes , 4500 ft , ca. 11.10N , 73.56W ( Paynter, 1997 ), Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta , Magdalena , Colombia , on 10 December 1898 , by Grace H. Hull. Gift of Morris K. Jesup. COMMENTS: Zimmer gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description and listed the specimens he examined. The paratypes are: Las Nubes , AMNH 70521–70524 , 70526 , five specimens sex? (in addition to the type), November– December 1898 ; Líbano , AMNH 72325 , sex?, 2 May 1899 ; Valparaiso , AMNH 72326– 72328 , one male, one female, and one sex?, 18–23 March 1899 . All but one of the paratypes was collected by G.H. Hull. On the original label, printed with Mrs. H.H. Smith’s name, ‘‘Smith’’ has been marked out and G.H.H. substituted. Grace H. Hull was Mrs. Smith’s niece ( Todd and Carriker, 1922: 36 ), not Mr. H.H. Hull as listed by Allen (1900: 122) .
