Lateral pronotal lobes notched on posterior margin. Tegmina fully developed, hind wings usually longer. Tibial tympana open on both sides, the apex of hind femora bearing 3 pairs of apical spurs. Posterior margin of male 10th abdominal tergite not specialized. Male cerci varied, male genitalia completely membranous. Fastigium verticis black; pronotal disc with a longitudinal yellowish-brown band in the middle, anterior margin of pronotum with 1 pair of black brown spots, metazona also with 1 pair of black brown spots or absent in some specimens.

Discussion
: For some time, we have known that
Xiphidiopsis quardrinotata
was a
Meconemopsis
because of the black dorsum of fastigium vertices. Actually, the photos of
Meconemopsis borellii
on OSF clearly indicate its relationship with
Alloteratura
. Besides, we misidentified the female from
Xizang
as
Xiphidiopsis quadrinotata
until
Shi, Bian & Zhou (2016)
clarified they are different.
