Notes. – This species is found in Amazonian Brazil , Colombia , Ecuador , Peru , and Bolivia and also is disjunct in Suriname ( TAYLOR, 2005 ). DELPRETE & KIRKBRIDE (2015) reported that this species is “widespread in South America”, but it may be restricted to the western Amazon basin. The Suriname plants are only known in immature fruit, and are included in this species provisionally. These have smaller inflorescences as well as a markedly disjunct distribution, and probably deserve re-evaluation as to their species identity.
