Defrance 1826: 391 [ nomen dubium ]. Defrance (1826: 391) gave a brief description of a shell from Hirtenberg at Enzesfeld in Austria , stating (in French): “ Shell fusiform, ventrose, covered by coarse striae, which follow the whorls. With strangulation in upper part whorl. Canal very short ”. This insufficient description might point to a Granulatocincta species. Defrance (1826) referred to Constant Prévost (1787–1856), who described the geology from the Hirtenberg area in Prévost (1820) . The type material was destroyed in WW II and therefore, the identity of this taxon remains dubious. The species was listed by Tucker (2004) , however, it was overlooked that Quenstedt (1884: 625, pl. 210, fig. 49) used this name for a clavatulid from Enzesfeld [ Perrona vindobonensis (Quenstedt, 1884) ], which does not agree with the description of Defrance.
