Russia (S RFE: SW Sakhalin , S Kurils—Kunashir, S Khabarovskii Krai, Primorskii Krai), Japan ( Hokkaido , Honshu), South Korea . Remarks. The finding of H. shioyana in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the northeast. In Japan the larvae feed on Acer pictum ( Sapindaceae ) and Carpinus cordata ( Betulaceae ), of which A. pictum is common in SW Sakhalin.
