Remarks
. This topotypic series contains an adult male (MZUC 11273) of
48.57 mm
with unusual coloration, including suprahumeral white round ocelli surrounded by black. Those specimens of
Gonatodes taniae
with suprahumeral ocelli are very rare at the
type
locality, located at the southern side of the Cordillera de la Costa (W. Schargel, pers. com.), but no so uncommon on the northern side of the Cordillera de la Costa.
