( Figs. 33a–c , 54c , 74 ) Peritelus setabensis Hustache, 1921: 5 ; Cobos, 1949: 608 ; Torres Sala, 1962: 360 ; Pierotti & Bellò, 1998: 104 ; Gurrea Sanz & Sanz Benito, 2000: 239 ; Alonso-Zarazaga, 2002: 24 . Peritelus (Peritelus) setabensis Hustache : Lona, 1937: 260 . Diagnosis . Species of small size (3.5–4.0 mm), characterised by indistinct pterygia, robust antennal funicle with at least first three desmomeres bearing moderately dense setae slightly broadening apicad, flattened eyes and elongate elytra with short, wide, appressed setae uniformly distributed on interstriae. Aedeagus as in Figs. 33a–b , endophallic structures as in Fig. 33c ; spermatheca as in Fig. 54c ( lectotype ). Females present more elongate elytra and hardly recognisable metatibial denticles. Distribution . Iberian endemite: eastern Spain ( type locality: Játiva, Valencia ). Spanish literature records: Valencia : Játiva ( type loc.), Tabernes de Valldigna (Torres-Sala, 1962); Málaga: Hoya de Málaga ( Cobos, 1949 ). In fact the latter seems unlikely and probably based on misidentification. Material examined ( Fig. 74 ). Lectotype female (here designated), labelled: 1) recto: Jativa , Valencia , Hispania , col. E. Moroder ; verso: 24.3.921; 2) type; 3) Peritelus setabensis Hust. ; 4) type; 5) ( HUS ) . Other specimens: Spain : Valencia : Játiva , 24.III.21, leg. Moroder ( HUS ); do., m. 350, N38º59'034" W00º31'090", 1. V .01, leg. Bellò (BEL); do., leg. Pierotti ( PIE ); do., 10.IV.03, leg. Bellò (BEL); do., leg. Pierotti ( PIE ), 31.III.2004 , leg. Bellò (BEL) . Biology . As commented by Hustache (1921) , this species is usually found on Coronilla juncea L. ( Fabaceae ) at end of March and beginning of April; we have found it also in May on different shrubs. Notes . A specimen in HOF labelled “Béjar, Espagne , 8.5.53, leg. Gandon” seems to be referable to this species, but the locality is rather imprecise and the exact provenance of the specimen is doubtful.
