New Ireland
: 1, 2.—General distribution: Red Sea and East Africa,
Madagascar
and Mascarenes east to Tuamotu Archipelago, north to southern
Japan
and Ogasawara Islands, south to southern Great Barrier Reef (
Australia
),
New Caledonia
and Rapa. Found on reef flats and in lagoon and seaward reefs, over coral, rock, pavement, or rubble substrates,

depth. Marine.
