The species is externally similar to T. digitiprojecta , and the diagnosis is stated under the latter species. In the male abdomen, the linear sclerite between segment II and III is more distinct compared to the related species. The valva of male genitalia is less modified than other species, but characterized by having long sparse setae on the inner margin. The female genitalia are very similar to those of T. spinesigna and the differences are mentioned under the latter species. Description. Adult ( Fig. 9H ). Wingspan 7.0− 7.5 mm . Head golden ochre. Labial palpus golden ochre; segment II usually dark fuscous at apex of ventral surface; segment III as long as II, dark fuscous on ventral surface.Antenna with scape golden ochre, often mixed with dark fuscous; flagellum dark fuscous except basal 1/3 or 1/4 of dorsal surface light yellow, male cilia as long or slightly shorter than diameter. Thorax golden ochre, with a dark fuscous median line. Tegula golden ochre, anterior and inner margins usually broadly dark fuscous. Forewing ground color golden ochre, apical area darker; apical spot bordered inwardly by with silvery white scales, these scales usually forming a small spot; anterior edge of costa dark fuscous to black in basal 3/4; markings dark fuscous: a broad costal streak from between distal 1/3 and 1/4, obliquely extended toward apical spot, reaching anterior 1/3 of wing, posterior 1/2 of outer margin bordered by white scales; beyond this a slender costal streak from distal 1/5, nearly joined to former streak posteriorly; beyond this a white, somewhat indistinct spot on costa above apical spot; a broad longitudinal line below costa from base to basal 3/4, confluent with first costal streak distally; a broad longitudinal line above dorsum from base to distal 1/4, oblique and attenuated from fold, not reaching former line distally; a broad line on dorsum from base to distal 1/2 or 2/5; an inwardly directed, V-shaped marking in distal 1/3 of wing, close to costal streak and apical spot anteriorly, reaching near tornus posteriorly; tornal streak short, reaching former V-shaped marking anteriorly, bordered inwardly by white and light-yellow scales. Fringe of forewing, hindwing and legs as in T. digitiprojecta . Male sternum VIII ( Fig. 24K ). Approximately 1/6 length of abdomen, trapezoidal; posterior apex melanized, truncate. Male genitalia ( Fig. 34A ). Uncus tongue-shaped, setose. Gnathos hook long and simple. Tegumen 3.5 times as long as uncus. Valva gradually broadening from base to basal 3/4, ventral margin with long setae before middle; apex blunt, slightly narrowed. Anellus lobe very short and slender; apical bristle as long as anellus lobe. Juxta with a subtriangular projection in basal 1/3 of inner margin. Vinculum with posterior margin produced medially. Saccus short, subtriangular, not exceeding tegumen pedunculus. Aedeagus with basal 2/5 dilated, narrow in distal 3/5, distal 1/5 curved upward, blunt at apex. Female genitalia ( Fig. 51C ). Papillae anales moderately sclerotized. Apophyses anteriores slightly shorter than apophyses posteriores. Tergum VIII concave on anterior and posterior margins. Sternum VIII longer than tergum VIII, posterior 2/3 with a large, oblong sclerotization above ostium bursae, anterior margin produced in U-shape. Ostium bursae opening at posterior 2/3 of sternum VIII. Ductus bursae narrow and uniformly elongate, ductus seminalis arising from posterior 1/7. Corpus bursae ovate, approximately 1/2 length of ductus bursae; signum situated at posterior 1/4, with a slender thorn-like process; appendix bursae smaller than corpus bursae, opening at middle of corpus bursae. Distribution. China ( Guangxi , Yunnan ). Etymology. The species name is from Latin, truncatus (truncate), referring to the truncate posterior margin of the male abdominal segment VIII.
