This species can be distinguished from its congeners in the male genitalia by the phallus with two tufts of denticles at distal 1/4, and the juxta borne in the middle of the phallus, with stalk obviously swollen. It is similar to N. parvaprocessa sp. nov. in appearance, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species. Description . Adult ( Figs 24, 25 ). Male wingspan 20.0−24.0 mm. Head: Vertex pale yellow; frons golden yellow. Eye interocular index 0.33−0.45. Proboscis dark brown. Labial palpus 1.2−1.5 × vertical eye diameter; first and second palpomeres yellow, with black hairs; third palpomere black. Antenna 3.2−3.6 × length of forewing; scape purple; flagellum grayish brown except dark yellowish brown in basal 1/6. Thorax: Mesonotum golden yellow; tegula bronzy yellow. Forewing ground color yellowish brown from base to 2/3, distal 1/3 purplish gray, with golden luster; black speckle near base between Sc and anterior margin of cell; four silvery gray streaks, edged with black scales: first streak from base to beyond middle along costal margin, with golden luster, second streak from basal 1/3 to near 4/5 of cell along anterior margin, third streak from near base to 4/5 of cell along posterior margin, fourth streak from near base to 3/5 of wing along 1A+2A; four black lines: first line from base to near middle of wing along R 1 , second line from basal 2/5 to 4/5 of cell, third line from near base to middle of wing along CuP, fourth line from base to 1/6 along dorsum; inner and outer fasciae silvery gray, inner fascia curved outward or almost straight, outer fascia curved inward, medial fascia yellow, edged with narrow dark brown bands; yellowish brown fascia from distal 1/4 of costal margin to beyond tornus, edged with black scales, with yellowish brown radiate longitudinal stripes; fringe grayish brown. Hindwing grayish brown except light brown between costal margin and Rs; fringe grayish brown. Foreleg yellow ventrally, purplish bronzy dorsally except tarsus golden yellow; midleg yellow except tibia purple on dorsal surface; hindleg yellow except tibia bronzy apically. Epiphysis bronzy, at middle of tibia, not reaching apex of tibia. Abdomen: Dark brown. Female wingspan 17.5−21.5 mm . Antenna 0.85−1.2 × length of forewing; thickened by black scales up to basal 3/5, grayish white distally. Forewing without yellowish brown radiate streaks from beyond yellowish brown fascia to apex. Otherwise, similar to male. Male genitalia ( Fig. 46 ). Socius ovoid, length 1.7 ×width.Tegumen with distinct median ridge. Uncus subtriangular, subtriangularly concave anteromedially. Valva fused for basal 1/3, narrowly rounded at apex, straight on costal margin, obliquely straight on ventral margin; sacculus narrowed, reaching near apex of ventral margin. Transtilla straight on posterior margin, deeply concave in triangle anteromedially, sub-trapezoidally produced anterolaterally; median process spiniform, reaching posterior 2/5 of tegumen apically. Vinculum 2.9 × length of valva, broadly rounded anteriorly. Phallus 1.1 × length of vinculum, straight except curved ventrad in distal 1/10, swollen at base, with two rows of spines at middle, two tufts of denticles at distal 1/4 and a pair of sclerotized belts from distal 1/4 to 1/10 ( Fig. 46a ). Juxta borne at middle of phallus, 0.53 × length of phallus; lateral arm 0.19 × length of arrow head; stalk obviously swollen. Female genitalia ( Fig. 52 ). Apophyses posteriores almost same length as apophyses anteriores; apophyses anteriores fused with eighth tergum in posterior 2/5, 2.2 × length of seventh tergum. Eighth tergum triangularly produced anteromedially. Antrum from near anterior margin to 1/3 of eighth sternum. Seventh tergum pointed posteriorly. Vestibulum membranous, with a sclerite from distal 2/5 to near apex. Ductus bursae 0.86 × length of vestibulum, 1.8 × length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae round. Distribution . China ( Guizhou , Hubei , Qinghai , Shaanxi ), Japan , Korea , Russia .
