Goemans (2016)
provided evidence that the species belongs to
Zammaralna
after finding the
holotype
.The three tarsal segments, wing venation pattern, and infuscation pattern in the fore wings suggested the species should be in
Zammaralna
(

. The generic reassignment was made official recently (
Sanborn 2020d
).
Distribution.
The species has been reported previously from several countries based on misidentification of taxa (
Goemans 2016
).
Goemans (2016)
showed the species was known from
Guyana
and
Venezuela
.
Nunes
et al
. (2023)
illustrate a specimen from northern
Brazil
and added the species to the Brazilian cicada fauna.
