Male : Body length 6.00 mm. Eye with short and sparse hairs, facets slightly enlarged on anterior margin in upper part; postocular setae in one row; occipital setae behind the postocular setae on vertex in one shorter row; fronto-orbital plate and parafacial with dense greyish-silvery pruinosity; frons slightly narrower than the distance between two posterior ocelli, about 3/4 of the width of postpedicel; frontal vitta linear at middle; frontal setae 10–12, nearly reaching ocellar triangle, 6 or 7 pairs of short setae between them; orbital setae absent; parafacial bare, about 3/5 as wide as width of postpedicel at middle; antenna black; postpedicel about 2.5 times as long as wide; arista slightly swollen at base, with short hairs, the longest hair shorter than the basal width of arista; epistoma not projecting to vibrissal angle; vibrissal angle behind frontal angle in profile; subvibrissal setulae in one row, outside with one short row of setae; gena with greyish-brown pruinosity; gena and genal dilation with black hairs; upper margin of gena without upcurved setae; prestomal of medium length; prementum with greyish pruinosity, its length 2.8–3.0 times as long as its width; palpus black, stick-like, equal to or slightly longer than the length of prementum. Thorax black in ground-colour; scutum with brownish-grey pruinosity, without distinct vitta; presutural acr biserial, hair-like; postsutural acr triserial, prescutellar pairs slightly stronger, the distance between outer two acr rows equal to the distance between acr row and dc row; dc 2+3; ia 0+2; pra 2, about 2/3 the length of posterior notopleural seta; notopleuron without setulae; basisternum, proepisternum, anepimeron, meron and katepimeron bare; katepisternal setae 1+1; katepisternum without ventral spines; anterior spiracle yellowish, posterior one brown; calypters yellowish, the lower one projecting beyond the upper one. Wing brownish; veins brown; tegula black; basicosta brown; costal spine inconspicuous; node of Rs bare on ventral and dorsal surfaces; veins R4+5 and M conspicuously close to each other distally; vein R4+5 straight; crossveins without obvious cloud; halter yellow. Legs entirely black; fore coxa without anterior spines on ventral surface; fore femur with complete pd rows; fore tibia without ad and median p ; mid coxa without any hooked spines or spine-like setae on lower and outer margins; mid femur with stout av row on basal 2/3, then a gap followed by short setae on distal 1/4; pv row complete, biserial in median part; p row complete; mid tibia slightly swollen at distal half, with 1 ad , 1 pd and numerous slender hairs on ventral surface, the longest one about equal to mid tibial width; mid first tarsomere without basal tooth-like spines on ventral surface; hind coxa with 1 long setula on posterior surface; hind femur with a short av row on basal 2/3, becoming distinctly stronger on distal 1/3 (with about 3–5 strong av ); strong ad row on distal 1/3, without pv row, with only numerous pv hairs on basal half; hind tibia with 5 or 6 av , 12 or 13 stout ad in one row, among which the submedian one is distinctly stronger, 1 median d and 2 curved p rows, the longest one about 1/4 the width of hind tibia. Abdomen oval, depressed and flattened, black in ground-colour, with dense grey pruinosity; syntergite 1+2 to tergite 4 each with 1 broad median inverted triangular vitta; tergite 5 with 1 dark median vitta; sternite 1 bare. Sternite 5, ventral view. Female : Not known from China (female described in Chillcott, 1961a : 83). Remarks. The specimen from China has been compared with F . immutica using the description and male terminalia illustrations given by Chillcott (1961a: 82) . We considered them conspecific, although our specimen differs by the male cercal plate slightly slender on distal half when seen in ventral view (Fig. 4 cf . Chillcott, 1961a : Fig. 14), and male surstylus slightly curved anteriorly on apex in lateral view (Fig. 5 cf . Chillcott, 1961a : Fig. 17). Material examined. CHINA : Jilin : Mt.
