Remarks
.
Fain (1995)
considered
Harpyrhynchoides longipilus
as species incertae sedis in the subfamily Harpirhynchinae. Its original description allows including this species to the genus
Harpyrhynchoides
; however, is not enough sufficient to differ it from other congeners. This species could be a senior synonym of
Harpyrhynchoides brevis
(see remarks to this species).
