Examined specimens.
Two male specimens were collected from SRF (UMTZC1500 and UMTZC1733, SVL = 22-24 mm).
Identification.
Morphological characters of the specimens agreed well with the description by
Berry (1975)
. Size (SVL: 22-24 mm,
n
= 2 males); slender body; head without bony ridges; snout truncate; tympanum distinct; tips of digits swollen into discs; first finger slightly shorter than the second; fingers

webbed; subarticular tubercles distinct; skin with small warts; paratoid gland small and almost invisible; dorsum with hourglass shape; pale dorsolateral gland; hind limbs with pinkish red on underside surface.
Remarks.
Leptophryne borbonica
is so far known to occur at the small streams of SRF with the first collected specimen UMTZC1500 from the Peres small stream and UMTZC1733 from the Bubu small stream. This forest-dwelling species was sighted amongst the piles of dead leaves on the forest floor and the banks of the streams.
